About Massage
Massage is the therapeutic system of manipulation of the skin and underlying soft tissue of the body. It is widely acknowledged to assist in our overall wellbeing, and the therapist utilises a variety of hands-on strokes to aid, repair and support the body’s own healing mechanisms. It primarily aids our body’s parasympathetic nervous system to relax and allow normal anatomical and postural structure of our soft tissue, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (connective tissue).
When our muscles become strained, tense, knotted, or immobile, massage provides a comforting intervention that acts as a catalyst for our body to heal. The massage treatment is individualised and targeted to assist each person according to their needs and treatment wishes. The amount of pressure applied to specific parts of the body resides within the client’s pain level and tolerances, and methods will be discussed during the consultation.
Benefits of massage include:
• Reduce stress & promote relaxation
